Here are the benefits of a NASO membership for officials:

​

  • Insurance Protection: This includes general liability insurance, assault protection with medical reimbursement and attorney's fees, assigner's insurance, and game call coverage.

  • Information and Consultation: Members have access to the Member Information & Consultation Program (MICP), which provides free information and initial consultations for officiating-related issues.

  • Educational Resources: A subscription to Referee Magazine (and access to the digital version), the It's Official newsletter, the NASO LockerRoom e-newsletter, and free online rules challenges are included.

  • Advocacy: NASO advocates for legislation to protect officials from assault and provide limited liability.

  • Discounts: Members receive discounts on NASO training materials, products from Ump-Attire.com, and reduced room rates at participating Marriott hotels through the Marriott Athletic VIP Card. They also receive discounts on registration for the annual NASO Sports Officiating Summit.

  • Digital Access: The NASO Members App provides access to digital resources, the Sports Officials Tax Guide, the NASO Members Guidebook, and the digital version of Referee magazine.

  • Tax Deductions: Membership dues are fully tax-deductible from officiating income.

Objective

The objective of the Southern Minnesota Wrestling Officials Association is to uphold and advance the proficiency of high school wrestling officiating.

 

We are dedicated to the consistent application of rules to ensure fair competition, foster respect among schools and their communities, and contribute to a positive and educationally sound athletic experience for all participants.

Commitment to Service

The Association's leadership and members are committed to serving league administrators and member schools with the highest degree of professionalism.

 

We deliver our services in an efficient and businesslike manner to ensure reliability and trust.

Membership Standards

In accordance with the Association's constitution, all members shall be registered officials with the Minnesota State High School League.

 

Membership requires adherence to the highest standards of professional conduct and fulfillment of all MSHSL officiating mandates, including:

  • Annual attendance at state rules interpretation meetings.

  • Successful completion of the state rules examination.
